Teen Pregnancy

Teens should think about what they are doing before they accidently become teenage mother. And it is the responsibility not only of a parent but of other adults to assist a child so that she will not be pregnant early. Teachers or relatives can be the ones to guide the teenager so that she can withstand her problems and refrain from being pregnant at an early age. Teen pregnancy is a long road.

You will most likely end up walking that road by yourself most of the way. This paper will be discussing the environmental influences that promote the three domains of development with the assistance of two theorists, Piaget and Erikson. Discussed further is the participation of a team sport focusing on the Do you know the percentage of teenagers in America that are a part of a clique? A clique is simply a group of people that hang out with each other and usually have similar interests.

This problem is one of the hardest issues today, it is also inter-connected with the issue of child marriage. The teenager then is faced with obstacles that would normally happen to a year old woman.

So by becoming pregnant at a young age and not finishing your education. The guidance in life is the most important thing throughout so this can be less of an issue.

The early responsibility causes changes the teenagers overall personality. Going from being in school full time getting your education to having the responsibility to bringing a child into the world, then being alone able to possibly finish your high school education.

Finishing your education in a regular 4 years of your high school years will be hard. Not even to mention the financial costs it has to have a newborn. So as a teenager you need a support system so that a newborn is taken care of in the safest, best place for the child.

A lot of this early responsibility can be unbearable for some teens, expesically the ones that choose to get pregnant while they are still in high school. For example, there is an increased chance of mothers from ages of birthing a child that is underweight at birth.

A low birth weight will increase the chance of the newborn to have health risks. It is definitely not a great thing to have the chance of health risks in you or the child. Another way that the health problems can start is because teens might not have all the knowledge of proper behavior in knowing how to nurse the child or the proper ways during the growth of the child. That is the worst that can be done; it will increase the chance greatly of the baby being born with some type of birth defect or a weak part of the baby.

Now that can be the worst you can possibly do to an unborn child. To wrap it all up, teen pregnancy is a major issue that should try to be prevented as much as it can. The best outcome would also prepare the teenager for the arrival of the baby. The nursing intervention could include discussing with the teenager techniques to be able to adapt to the role change as well as discussion on how the teenager is coping with the role change.

Teenagers are faced many times with the question of readiness to have sex from their peers, society and ultimately themselves. These questions can be detrimental to the sexual health of the teenager as a lot of the focus is on when the teenager is ready not on if the teenager should be engaging in sexual activity.

Rather than a discussion of readiness to have sex, the focus should be on a readiness for learning about teenage sexuality and pregnancy. As teenagers are still developing their brains and decision making skills it is essential to teach teenagers about their growing hormones and sexual activity.

Studies have found that programs which teach sexual education increase the rates of condom use which subsequently reduce teenage pregnancy. The program reduced the frequency of intercourse without a condom during the three months prior to the survey As teenagers are increasingly likely to engage in sexual activity it is important that they are safe and are utilizing effective contraception methods.
